Research Discovery Stream
September-December 2025
The Research Discovery Stream was a 12-week online seminar series designed to introduce mentees to the full spectrum of scientific research, from foundational concepts to real-world applications. Through weekly sessions led by graduate students, clinicians, and researchers, participants explored topics including experimental design, lab techniques, animal and clinical research, bioinformatics, and scientific communication. The program also highlighted specialized areas such as translational research and women’s health, while offering practical workshops on scientific writing and data analysis. Concluding with a career panel, the stream provided mentees with insight into diverse research pathways, hands-on learning opportunities, and mentorship from professionals across a range of STEM fields.
Be Bold
November 2025
Be Bold was a conference-style event designed to empower mentees to think fearlessly and take confident steps toward their future in STEM. Held in Toronto, the full-day event brought together students and STEM professionals for a dynamic program that included a lightning panel featuring inspiring leaders, interactive challenge-based workshops led by guest facilitators from diverse fields, and dedicated opportunities for networking and community building. Participants collaborated in teams to tackle real-world problems and present creative solutions, while reflective “Campfire Chats” encouraged open discussion and idea-sharing. Through hands-on experiences, mentorship, and meaningful conversations, the event fostered confidence, leadership, and a strong sense of belonging within the STEM community.
